The tape said wait; the Raiders did not. Donovan Smith went at Round 1, Pick 7, a good 110 picks before the board was ready.
Donovan Smith gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
