Somebody took the Raiders to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.
The whole projection now runs through Bo Nix; hit there and everything else looks smarter. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it.
They will need Braswell to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The Hart value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, tight end very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a long-term starter on the line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In Round 1, Pick 14 they get a passer to set the clock by, reach and all. A clean fit for the roster.
A premium they did not need to pay, Chris Braswell a notch or two before his time. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A straight-up fair deal on Christian Haynes at the 75th pick, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Malachi Corley in the 77th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Ray Davis at pick 107 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Malik Washington in pick No. 110 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A conviction pick on Darius Robinson at slot 112 that the board grades a round light. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Cam Hart at the 150th pick is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They took Chau Smith-Wade at par in the 158th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They did well to land Michael Barrett in the Round 6 slot, just ahead of his grade. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Steele Chambers at No. 234 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
