The steal of the weekend belongs to the Bears and Trotter Jr.: B+.

Whoever sat across the table from the Bears should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Trotter Jr.. The veteran additions, Budda Baker chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
