The Steelers bled value on every deal, hence the C-.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Steelers did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C-.

The Zinter pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback, edge rusher and other spots still on the board. Smith has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They banked enough surplus on Sainristil to cover a lot of smaller sins.

If JC Latham and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
