The Patriots drew a line under the quarterback search with Daniels: B.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Patriots spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They are betting All proves the room right and everyone else wrong. However the rest shakes out, Thomas Jr. at that price is a win they earned.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In the 8th pick they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Brian Thomas Jr.
Value with a capital V on Brian Thomas Jr. in the Round 2 slot, a genuine coup. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick43 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jordan Morgan in Round 2, Pick 11. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick68 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
By-the-book stuff, Mike Sainristil at pick No. 68 squarely in line with his ranking. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick104 Rnd4 Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter at slot 104 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick136 Rnd4 Tommy Eichenberg
They took Tommy Eichenberg at par in the 136th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick182 Rnd6 Erick All
A big swing on Erick All at No. 182, well ahead of any board in the building. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick229 Rnd7 Trevin Wallace
A straight-up fair deal on Trevin Wallace at pick 229, value and slot in agreement. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
