The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: JD Bertrand, No. 255, roughly 34 picks past where he belonged.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They will need Milton III to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Patriots paired the rookies with proven help, Kolton Miller leading the way.

Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.
