When a board-topper like Cody Simon slides to Round 7, Pick 8, you do not overthink it, and the Patriots did not. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Bernhard Raimann gives the group a proven body among the projects.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
