Mondon Jr. should have been long gone. The Patriots pounced, and earned a C.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Patriots did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

On value alone, Mondon Jr. makes the weekend a net positive. Reaching for Oatis left real value on the table behind him.

The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The veteran additions, Chris Godwin chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

So much rides on Denzel Burke that the real verdict is a season or two away.
