McCord should have been long gone. The Patriots pounced, and earned a B+.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Patriots came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.

The Patriots indulged a want in Revel Jr. while a need in edge rusher and safety stayed open. That McCord pick is the receipt they will wave around later. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.

They are betting Brooks proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
