Overall B-

Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Patriots.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Patriots walked out of the weekend still thin at edge rusher, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered. The back end got a real overhaul.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Will Johnson
In No. 2 they get an island corner. Need was not the driver here.
Pick34 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
A straight-up fair deal on Tyler Booker at pick 34, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick66 Rnd3 Rod Moore
Rod Moore at Round 3, Pick 2 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick98 Rnd4 Nazir Stackhouse
Nazir Stackhouse at slot 98 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick130 Rnd5 Joshua Gray
Fair-plus on Joshua Gray, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The roster fit checks out.
Pick194 Rnd7 Colbie Young
Colbie Young at the 194th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
