Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Packers.

The Decamerion Richardson pick is the one that will follow the Packers into the fall. They took him 63 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

Spending an early pick on safety with wide receiver, tight end and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Bishop. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Troy Fautanu
They paid sticker price for Troy Fautanu in Round 1, Pick 25, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick41 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper at pick 41 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick58 Rnd2 Renardo Green
Renardo Green in pick No. 58 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick88 Rnd3 Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at safety with wide receiver, tight end and other spots open.
Pick91 Rnd3 Dominick Puni
A straight-up fair deal on Dominick Puni at the 91st overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick126 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Cole Bishop adds a safety and leaves wide receiver, tight end and other spots untouched.
Pick169 Rnd5 Cedric Johnson
They left a pile of value on the table to take Cedric Johnson this early at slot 169. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick202 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
A market-rate quarterback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Joe Milton III. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick219 Rnd6 Edefuan Ulofoshio
A conviction pick on Edefuan Ulofoshio at the 219th pick that the board grades a round light. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick245 Rnd7 Jaden Shirden
Jaden Shirden at pick 245 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick255 Rnd7 Decamerion Richardson
A real head-scratcher, Decamerion Richardson in the Round 7 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
