The Bears answered their biggest question with Williams. Grade: D.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bears shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

The whole projection now runs through Caleb Williams; hit there and everything else looks smarter. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Shipley pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
