FutureA+
The Bears got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the B-. Somebody took the Bears to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.
The Wilson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.
That Benson pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Malik Nabers
In the 9th overall pick they get a true top target at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick22
Rnd1
Jackson Powers-Johnson
In No. 22 they get an anchor for the offensive line. A real need, handled.
Pick49
Rnd2
Adisa Isaac
They paid sticker price for Adisa Isaac in pick No. 49, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick62
Rnd2
Devontez Walker
No edge and no loss on Devontez Walker in slot 62; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick75
Rnd3
Blake Fisher
They did well to land Blake Fisher in the Round 3 slot, just ahead of his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick90
Rnd3
Cam Hart
Cam Hart in Round 3, Pick 27 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick93
Rnd3
Cole Bishop
The board had cheaper options than Cole Bishop at the 93rd pick, and it noticed. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick103
Rnd4
Johnny Wilson
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Johnny Wilson. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick105
Rnd4
Trey Benson
Trey Benson in slot 105 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick109
Rnd4
Zak Zinter
Good price on Zak Zinter in No. 109, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The roster fit checks out.
Pick129
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
Cedric Gray at the 129th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick250
Rnd7
Ryan Watts
No drama and no debate, Ryan Watts went about where he belonged in pick 250. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
