Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureC+
The Patriots robbed the room for Rosemy-Jacksaint. Final grade: B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint tumbling to the Patriots in pick 231 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. Every board in the league had Milton III lower, and that gap is the story.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Kool-Aid McKinstry
In the 31st pick they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. More want than need.
Pick34 Rnd2 Brian Thomas Jr.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Brian Thomas Jr. at No. 34. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick36 Rnd2 Ja'Tavion Sanders
Ja'Tavion Sanders in the 36th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick40 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
Jordan Morgan at pick No. 40 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick56 Rnd2 Malachi Corley
A straight-up fair deal on Malachi Corley at pick 56, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick63 Rnd2 Ruke Orhorhoro
By-the-book stuff, Ruke Orhorhoro at Round 2, Pick 31 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick68 Rnd3 Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick122 Rnd4 Mohamed Kamara
They jumped the gun on Mohamed Kamara, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick137 Rnd5 Beau Brade
Beau Brade in the Round 5 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick180 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III in pick 180 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick231 Rnd7 Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in the 231st overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
