Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Packers: B-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Packers reached some 72 spots for Jaylen Wright, and value like that does not grow back. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

On value alone, Williams makes the weekend a net positive. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Cooper DeJean
Nice patience on Cooper DeJean, who had no business lasting to No. 25. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick41 Rnd2 Jackson Powers-Johnson
Jackson Powers-Johnson at pick 41 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick57 Rnd2 Chop Robinson
Chop Robinson at pick No. 57 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick88 Rnd3 Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks in the 88th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick91 Rnd3 Jaylen Wright
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jaylen Wright well ahead of where he belonged. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick126 Rnd4 Justin Eboigbe
They took Justin Eboigbe at par in Round 4, Pick 26, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick168 Rnd5 Jaylan Ford
The board had cheaper options than Jaylan Ford at slot 168, and it noticed. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick203 Rnd6 Christian Jones
Christian Jones at Round 6, Pick 28 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick216 Rnd6 Darius Muasau
They left a pile of value on the table to take Darius Muasau this early at pick No. 216. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick243 Rnd7 Isaac Guerendo
A real head-scratcher, Isaac Guerendo in the 243rd pick is miles ahead of his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick251 Rnd7 Isaiah Williams
Circle this one: Isaiah Williams at No. 251 is a fall that decides a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
