The Cardinals lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. They banked enough surplus on Jones to cover a lot of smaller sins.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 1 they get a home-run threat at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Jordan Morgan at pick No. 26 squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They read the board right and Kamren Kinchens was the payoff at Round 2, Pick 3. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Kingsley Suamataia slipping to the 71st pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Ruke Orhorhoro in slot 85. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
No drama and no debate, Braelon Allen went about where he belonged in pick 104. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Nehemiah Pritchett at the 133rd overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Shemar Turner in the Round 5 slot. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Aki Ogunbiyi slid further than he should have, and Round 6, Pick 13 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Omar Speights at the Round 7 slot is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.
Nice patience on Sheridan Jones, who had no business lasting to the 227th overall pick. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
