Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the 49ers were there to profit. Roger Rosengarten, the No. 135 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick 176. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

If McMahon pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
