The Vikings let Lachey fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Vikings did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to quarterback, which was the need that mattered most. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

That Lachey pick is the receipt they will wave around later. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with safety the one that mattered most. The back end got a real overhaul.

Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
