vvvv DRAFTING FOR THEPatriots
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall
B
ValueB-

FutureB-
Moss should have been long gone. The Patriots pounced, and earned a B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Patriots were there to profit. Le'Veon Moss, the No. 147 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 241. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
Every board in the league had Dennis-Sutton lower, and that gap is the story. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In the Round 1 slot they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick38
Rnd2
Tate Ratledge
Tate Ratledge in the 38th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick69
Rnd3
Dani Dennis-Sutton
They talked themselves into Dani Dennis-Sutton at slot 69, and the board did not agree. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick77
Rnd3
Jake Majors
They went early on Jake Majors in pick No. 77, and the value did not follow. The roster fit checks out.
Pick105
Rnd4
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson in Round 4, Pick 4 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick143
Rnd5
Oronde Gadsden II
Oronde Gadsden II in the 143rd overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick217
Rnd7
Jake Briningstool
A clean, defensible pick in pick 217 with a little surplus value in Jake Briningstool. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick220
Rnd7
Jordan Hancock
Jordan Hancock in No. 220 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick241
Rnd7
Le'Veon Moss
Steal is underselling it; Le'Veon Moss at slot 241 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
