The Raiders spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Ja'Lynn Polk, the No. 73 name on the board, in No. 107. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The back end got a real overhaul.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 13 they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 44th pick is the definition of value, full stop. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Ja'Lynn Polk at No. 107 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They took Spencer Rattler at par in the Round 4 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
The board had Jarrian Jones higher than slot 148, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
