They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Evan Anderson, 57 picks early at pick No. 226. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
The Carson value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 11 they get a go-to option on the outside, and a steal at that.
J.J. McCarthy in the 38th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Caelen Carson at No. 108 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tyrice Knight at the 130th overall pick is the proof. A minor itch, scratched.
The board fumbled DJ James all the way to the Round 5 slot, and they scooped it up. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
They did well to land Braelon Allen in slot 160, just ahead of his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Braiden McGregor. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Marcus Harris in No. 183 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Evan Anderson at Round 7, Pick 6 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It fills a real need, too.
