Draft Grade — Bears
Overall C+
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureA+
A passer of the future in Maye, and a C+, for the Bears.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Bears committed. Drake Maye is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

Reaching for Williams left real value on the table behind him. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere.

A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. The Foster value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Drake Maye
In slot 3 they get a franchise quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick9 Rnd1 Malik Nabers
In the 9th pick they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick26 Rnd1 Tyler Nubin
In the 26th overall pick they get a rangy last line of defense at fair value. More want than need.
Pick34 Rnd2 Chop Robinson
Chop Robinson in No. 34 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick58 Rnd2 Ja'Tavion Sanders
Ja'Tavion Sanders at Round 2, Pick 26 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick75 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
Sedrick Van Pran in the Round 3 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick111 Rnd4 Darius Robinson
A reach on Darius Robinson in pick 111; the board had better options right there. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick123 Rnd4 Dillon Johnson
A reasonable price with a little left over, Dillon Johnson in pick No. 123. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick143 Rnd5 Javon Foster
Javon Foster slipping to No. 143 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The roster fit checks out.
Pick178 Rnd6 Isaiah Williams
They reached into another round for Isaiah Williams, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
