Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Packers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

You can usually follow a front office's logic. This one is harder. The Packers spent No. 58 on Junior Colson while edge rusher, tight end and other spots sat unaddressed. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They banked enough surplus on Oladapo to cover a lot of smaller sins. The cost of the Taylor reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Nate Wiggins
In the 25th pick they get a sticky cover corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick41 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
No edge and no loss on Edgerrin Cooper in Round 2, Pick 9; it is a wash and a sensible one. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick58 Rnd2 Junior Colson
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending pick No. 58 on Junior Colson with edge rusher, tight end and other spots unsolved.
Pick88 Rnd3 Trey Benson
Trey Benson at No. 88 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick91 Rnd3 Renardo Green
Renardo Green at pick 91 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick126 Rnd4 Blake Fisher
A slide stopped in slot 126, with Blake Fisher worth more than the price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick169 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
A tidy bit of business in the 169th pick, where Kitan Oladapo graded well above the range. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick202 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
A straight-up fair deal on Joe Milton III at the Round 6 slot, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick219 Rnd6 Garret Greenfield
Garret Greenfield at the 219th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick245 Rnd7 Bub Means
By-the-book stuff, Bub Means at the 245th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick255 Rnd7 Trey Taylor
They jumped the gun on Trey Taylor, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
