The Jordan Travis pick is the one that will follow the Raiders into the fall. They took him 42 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. However the rest shakes out, Wiley at that price is a win they earned.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 13th pick they get an anchor for the offensive line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Tyler Nubin at the Round 2 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 77 with a little surplus value in Blake Fisher. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
McKinnley Jackson at No. 113 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jordan Travis well ahead of where he belonged. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They did well to land Marist Liufau in pick No. 154, just ahead of his grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jared Wiley at pick No. 210 is the proof. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A straight-up fair deal on Tyrice Knight at the 212th pick, value and slot in agreement. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
A quiet steal in Round 7, Pick 1: Julian Pearl for less than the market said. The roster logic is harder to follow.
A reach on Andrew Raym in slot 225; the board had better options right there. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They paid sticker price for Keaton Bills in No. 227, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
