Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D+.

The Raiders clearly saw something nobody else did in Logan Jones, taking him 38 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D+.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Revel Jr. value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, running back very much included.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.24 · Pick 24 · Nic Scourton · DL-EDGE · rank 30
In the Round 1 slot they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R1.27 · Pick 27 · James Pearce Jr. · DL-EDGE · rank 36
In pick No. 27 they get a premier pass rusher, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.7 · Pick 39 · Deone Walker · DT · rank 44
A straight-up fair deal on Deone Walker at No. 39, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
R3.7 · Pick 71 · Drew Allar · QB · rank 43
Drew Allar in the 71st overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R3.27 · Pick 91 · Nick Emmanwori · S · rank 89
Nick Emmanwori in pick 91 is fair value, right on his grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R4.7 · Pick 103 · Riley Mahlman · OT · rank 97
Riley Mahlman in slot 103 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R5.7 · Pick 135 · Shavon Revel Jr. · CB · rank 106
Shavon Revel Jr. at the 135th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R5.27 · Pick 155 · Tez Johnson · WR · rank 151
Tez Johnson at Round 5, Pick 27 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R6.7 · Pick 167 · Hunter Wohler · S · rank 156
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Hunter Wohler in slot 167. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
R7.7 · Pick 199 · Deion Burks · WR · rank 183
Deion Burks at No. 199 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R7.24 · Pick 216 · Logan Jones · C · rank 254
Value said wait; Logan Jones in pick No. 216 says they were not listening. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
