The Patriots ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.

They will need Lovett to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Green at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
