The Raiders put a flag in the ground for McKade Mettauer, 46 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The Logan Jr. pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 13 they get protection for the quarterback. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Michael Hall Jr. at pick 77 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Max Melton in the 106th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Leonard Taylor III at slot 112 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
No edge and no loss on Braelon Allen in pick No. 150; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Andrew Raym at the Round 6 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A conviction pick on Jaylen Harrell at the 191st overall pick that the board grades a round light. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They paid sticker price for Erick All in pick 214, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 216, where De'Corian Clark graded well above the range. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They robbed the room for Kenny Logan Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A real head-scratcher, McKade Mettauer in No. 234 is miles ahead of his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
