JackW DRAFTING FOR THE49ers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall

FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the 49ers: B. Everything else got attention, and running back got none. That is a strange way for the 49ers to leave a draft.
Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Taliese Fuaga
In the 27th pick they get a building block for the line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick59
Rnd2
Denzel Burke
Good price on Denzel Burke in the Round 2 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick90
Rnd3
Brenden Rice
No edge and no loss on Brenden Rice in pick 90; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick98
Rnd3
Jackson Powers-Johnson
A tidy little value on Jackson Powers-Johnson in pick No. 98, a step better than break-even. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick127
Rnd4
James Williams
James Williams at the 127th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
