The Vikings did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and J. Michael Sturdivant fell into the 243rd pick. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Everything downstream of Bo Nix depends on Bo Nix, and the building knows it. Gentry has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.
