Best value of the weekend goes to the 49ers for Simpson: D-.

The 49ers lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.

It is not that Solomon is a bad player; it is that the 49ers had louder needs to answer first. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. Reaching for Ugwu left real value on the table behind him.

The Simpson value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
