Somebody took the Bears to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.

So much rides on Caleb Williams that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. The Smith pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and other spots.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They will need Smith to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
