Draft Grade — Texans
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureD
Nobody dealt better than the Texans this weekend: B.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Texans came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back. The cost of the Hall Jr. reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
In slot 9 they get a double-digit-sack hope. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick47 Rnd2 Patrick Paul
A straight-up fair deal on Patrick Paul at Round 2, Pick 15, value and slot in agreement. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick71 Rnd3 Michael Hall Jr.
They paid up for Michael Hall Jr. at the 71st pick when waiting would have done the job. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick128 Rnd4 James Williams
James Williams in No. 128 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick145 Rnd5 Jaylin Simpson
They paid a round early for Jaylin Simpson in pick No. 145, more than the board wanted. It adds depth where they could use a little.
