The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Sainristil. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Reaching for Sweat left real value on the table behind him.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a passer to set the clock by at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
A premium they did not need to pay, T'Vondre Sweat a notch or two before his time. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
By-the-book stuff, Cooper Beebe at pick No. 77 squarely in line with his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Mike Sainristil in slot 112 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Nice patience on Luke McCaffrey, who had no business lasting to Round 5, Pick 14. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Emani Bailey in pick 190 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Brevyn Spann-Ford at the 234th pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
