The trade table was where it all came apart. The Raiders shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. A F, plain and simple.
So much rides on Jayden Daniels that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The cost of the McMahon reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
In the end, a class that has to defy its grades just to matter.
Pick-by-Pick
A straight-up fair deal on Jayden Daniels at the 3rd pick, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A clean, defensible pick in slot 44 with a little surplus value in Tyler Guyton. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No edge and no loss on Kris Abrams-Draine in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They paid sticker price for Edefuan Ulofoshio in pick 156, and that is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jawhar Jordan. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They paid up for Jaden Crumedy at Round 7, Pick 1 when waiting would have done the job. Need-wise, a curious use of the pick.
The board had cheaper options than Dylan McMahon at No. 231, and it noticed. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
