Draft Grade — Bears
Overall A
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureA+
Best value of the weekend goes to the Bears for Nix: A.

You could see the war room lean forward. Bo Nix at slot 123 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The Bears clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Jared Verse
Jared Verse at the 14th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick32 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a double-digit-sack hope, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick64 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
Steal is underselling it; Keon Coleman at the 64th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick123 Rnd4 Bo Nix
They will replay Bo Nix at pick 123 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick133 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop at slot 133 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick143 Rnd5 Javion Cohen
A reach on Javion Cohen in No. 143; the board had better options right there. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick210 Rnd6 Josh Proctor
Josh Proctor is a better player than the Round 6 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
