Nobody else had Xavier Worthy anywhere near the 22nd overall pick. The Eagles did, by 45 spots, and that gap is the whole story.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up. Landing Eichenberg that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
If Xavier Worthy and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 22 they get a home-run threat at receiver, though the board says they badly overpaid. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A straight-up fair deal on Mike Sainristil at pick No. 50, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
No drama and no debate, Zach Frazier went about where he belonged in slot 53. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A reach for Mekhi Wingo in the 98th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 5 slot, where Tommy Eichenberg graded well above the range. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Curtis Jacobs. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jaylen Harrell in slot 172, miles early. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jared Wiley at the Round 6 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
