Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesA+ FutureB-
The Packers won the night they stopped Clark from sliding. Grade: B.

You could see the war room lean forward. De'Corian Clark at the 230th pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. With quarterback and tight end unsolved, spending premium capital on defensive back is the choice that costs them. They are betting DeJean proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Taliese Fuaga
In the 23rd overall pick they get a building block for the line at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Cooper DeJean
They bypassed pressing needs at quarterback and tight end to take Cooper DeJean, a defensive back that was not the priority.
Pick41 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe at No. 41 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick43 Rnd2 Calen Bullock
No drama and no debate, Calen Bullock went about where he belonged in the 43rd pick. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick66 Rnd3 Chris Braswell
Chris Braswell in pick No. 66 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick73 Rnd3 Blake Corum
By-the-book stuff, Blake Corum at pick 73 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick82 Rnd3 Jackson Powers-Johnson
Jackson Powers-Johnson in the Round 3 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick87 Rnd3 Barrett Carter
Value with a capital V on Barrett Carter in Round 3, Pick 24, a genuine coup. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick109 Rnd4 Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams at pick No. 109 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick135 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
A curious use of No. 135. Quarterback and tight end needed the pick; a safety in Cole Bishop did not.
Pick187 Rnd6 Cam Hart
Nice patience on Cam Hart, who had no business lasting to the 187th overall pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick217 Rnd6 Carson Steele
A premium they did not need to pay, Carson Steele a notch or two before his time. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick219 Rnd6 Jasheen Davis
Fair-plus on Jasheen Davis, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick230 Rnd7 De'Corian Clark
De'Corian Clark at the Round 7 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
