This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Walter Rouse, the No. 163 name on the board, stolen at slot 231. Call it a C- and check back in two years.

Whatever Caleb Williams becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. With edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on cornerback is the choice that costs them.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
