Leapin'Lambeaus DRAFTING FOR THEPackers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

ValueC

TradesB-
FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Packers: B-. The Tanner Mordecai pick is the one that will follow the Packers into the fall. They took him 59 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. However the rest shakes out, Benson at that price is a win they earned.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Terrion Arnold
Terrion Arnold at the Round 1 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick41
Rnd2
Mekhi Wingo
They left a pile of value on the table to take Mekhi Wingo this early at slot 41. The roster fit checks out.
Pick57
Rnd2
Javon Bullard
Javon Bullard in the 57th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick88
Rnd3
Trey Benson
Taking Trey Benson in pick 88 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick91
Rnd3
Blake Fisher
They went early on Blake Fisher in the 91st overall pick, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick126
Rnd4
Edefuan Ulofoshio
A big swing on Edefuan Ulofoshio at Round 4, Pick 26, well ahead of any board in the building. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick168
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
They took Kitan Oladapo at par in pick 168, which is nothing to complain about. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick203
Rnd6
Matthew Jones
Matthew Jones at the 203rd pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick216
Rnd6
Zion Logue
Value said wait; Zion Logue in the Round 6 slot says they were not listening. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick243
Rnd7
Tanner Mordecai
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Tanner Mordecai well ahead of where he belonged. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick251
Rnd7
Ryan Flournoy
Ryan Flournoy at Round 7, Pick 31 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
