Thirty-one other rooms let Tre Harris slide, and the Eagles were the ones holding the card at the 239th overall pick. Highway robbery. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. Reaching for Frazier left real value on the table behind him.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a true top target. The biggest hole, addressed.
They took Cooper Beebe at par in the Round 2 slot, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jaylin Simpson this early at pick 64. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They read the board right and Amarius Mims was the payoff at No. 97. It fills a real need, too.
Darius Robinson at the 137th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Ty'Ron Hopper at slot 155 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Kamal Hadden at the 172nd pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Miles Frazier in pick No. 178, miles early. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Tre Harris at the Round 7 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They talked themselves into Jackson Mitchell at pick 253, and the board did not agree. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
