FutureA
Good, not great, for the Cardinals: B. The one they had to fix is still broken. The Cardinals left tight end untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
In the 12th pick they get a home-run threat at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick32
Rnd1
Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
In pick 32 they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. More want than need.
Pick35
Rnd2
Bralen Trice
By-the-book stuff, Bralen Trice at slot 35 squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick66
Rnd3
Jonathon Brooks
Fair-plus on Jonathon Brooks, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The roster fit checks out.
Pick71
Rnd3
Ricky Pearsall
A straight-up fair deal on Ricky Pearsall at the Round 3 slot, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick76
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in Round 3, Pick 12 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick90
Rnd3
Spencer Rattler
No edge and no loss on Spencer Rattler in No. 90; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick95
Rnd3
Bucky Irving
They paid sticker price for Bucky Irving in the 95th overall pick, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
