Whoever sat across the table from the Eagles should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.
The Tagovailoa reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Antoine Winfield Jr. gives the group a proven body among the projects. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Xavier Worthy at pick 50 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in the Round 2 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A minor itch, scratched.
Khyree Jackson in pick No. 86 is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
By-the-book stuff, Trey Benson at Round 3, Pick 29 squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They paid a round early for Theo Johnson in the 128th overall pick, more than the board wanted. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They took Layden Robinson at par in the 170th pick, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
No edge and no loss on Walter Rouse in No. 171; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Taulia Tagovailoa this early at the 248th overall pick. It fills a real need, too.
