Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Leonard Taylor III got past him. The Cardinals do not have to explain a thing at slot 133. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 4 they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In pick 27 they get a premier pass rusher, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
The board had Keon Coleman higher than pick No. 35, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Kingsley Suamataia in the Round 3 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
By-the-book stuff, Cooper Beebe at the 71st pick squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Johnny Wilson slid further than he should have, and the 90th overall pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A tidy bit of business in No. 104, where Michael Hall Jr. graded well above the range. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Somehow Leonard Taylor III was still sitting there in Round 4, Pick 33, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
