Draft Grade — Bears

FutureB-
The Bears left with their quarterback, and a B to match. They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Caleb Williams is the Bears' quarterback, full stop.
They are betting Smith proves the room right and everyone else wrong. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick2
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In No. 2 they get the arm they will build around at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick27
Rnd1
Jackson Powers-Johnson
In the 27th pick they get a cornerstone up front. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
Jordan Morgan
Jordan Morgan at the 35th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick36
Rnd2
Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson at pick 36 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick67
Rnd3
Brenden Rice
They reached into another round for Brenden Rice, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick75
Rnd3
Maason Smith
A real head-scratcher, Maason Smith in the Round 3 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
