Thirty-one other rooms let Jordan Whittington slide, and the Raiders were the ones holding the card at pick 235. Highway robbery. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a wrecking ball inside. A clean fit for the roster.
Quinn Ewers in No. 46 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A straight-up fair deal on Amarius Mims at pick No. 78, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Max Melton slipping to Round 4, Pick 14 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Nice patience on Jamon Dumas-Johnson, who had no business lasting to the 151st overall pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Brevyn Spann-Ford in pick 192. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Somehow Jordan Whittington was still sitting there in slot 235, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
