The Bears drew a line under the quarterback search with Williams: D-.

Nobody else had Sedrick Van Pran anywhere near No. 43. The Bears did, by 49 spots, and that gap is the whole story. It grades a D-, and the process earned it.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. Caleb Williams gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. The Bears indulged a want in Smith while a need in interior defensive lineman, running back and other spots stayed open.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
