Thirty-one other rooms let De'Corian Clark slide, and the Bears were the ones holding the card at pick No. 225. Highway robbery.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. Reaching for Powers-Johnson left real value on the table behind him. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
