Start where it matters. The Patriots took Drake Maye to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Williams. The cost of the Gore Jr. reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
