If confidence were a draft strategy, the Raiders would have aced it. Jordan Travis at No. 112 is 60 spots clear of where he belonged. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
No drama and no debate, Taliese Fuaga went about where he belonged in Round 1, Pick 13. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They liked Braden Fiske enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 44. The roster fit checks out.
They took Blake Corum at par in the 77th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Jordan Travis in pick No. 112 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Dwight McGlothern at pick 148 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A tidy little value on Julian Pearl in the 208th pick, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A wild overpay on Tyrice Knight in the Round 7 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They went early on Bub Means in slot 229, and the value did not follow. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
