More right than wrong for the 49ers, and a B- to prove it.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The 49ers reached some 32 spots for Kalen DeLoach, and value like that does not grow back.

Johnson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Spending an early pick on safety with offensive lineman, interior defensive lineman and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. They punted on offensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
